Privacy note
Plain-English, and compliant with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Last updated 31 July 2026.
Who we are
PreludeAI is an independent AI advisory practice based in New Zealand. If you have any question about your information, email hello@preludeai.co.nz.
What we collect
When you contact us: your name, organisation (optional), email and message. We use this only to reply to you and, if it goes anywhere, to help you.
When you use the Reality Check: the industry, team size and description you enter, and your email if you choose to give it. We use it to generate your result and, if you left an email, to follow up.
Automatically: basic server logs (including your IP address) for security and to prevent abuse of our tools, and privacy-friendly analytics (see below).
The AI tools
Text you type into the Reality Check is sent to our inference provider, io.net, to generate a response. Please don’t paste confidential, sensitive or personal information about others into it. Treat it like a smart public tool, not a private vault. If you want to discuss something sensitive, just get in touch and we’ll handle it properly.
Analytics
We use Matomo, which we host ourselves. It runs cookieless, anonymises your IP address, respects “Do Not Track”, and never shares your data with third parties or tracks you across other websites. It tells us which pages are useful, nothing more.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t send you marketing you didn’t ask for. The only third parties involved are the service providers that make the site work: our web host, and io.net for the AI tools. That’s it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and Reality Check leads only as long as needed to help you and keep our own records, then delete them. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@preludeai.co.nz and we’ll sort it, usually within a few working days.
Cookies
We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie we may set is a temporary one to make the contact form work; it disappears when you close your browser.
